Asked Universal for help and promptly sent me help to get me going again. Spent the day there and then around 10:00 p.m., left Universal back to the car park and found the car would not start again. Drove the car from Anaheim (Near Disney) to Universal. Then I called my AAA roadside assistance that came along in no time at all, and was able to get me moving quickly. I called Budget Roadside Assistance! After about 10 minutes, I cancelled the request because they were going to take too long. On the third day, I tried to start the car and it would not start. I drove it once from LAX to the hotel in Anaheim and parked it there to enjoy Disney for the next 2 days. The story in short: I rented a car from Budget Rent-A-Car LAX on June 26, 2023. I was charged for roadside assistance that I did not use! I will never rent with budget again, and insist to anyone I know that they avoid them as well. This is the worst experience I have had with any company. I now have to stay up all night again to attempt to resolve this issue. A dog was never in or anywhere hear the car. Two weeks later I get a letter saying they found dog hair in the car and I am being charged $125 for "damages". This was very annoying and an obvious scam, but I thought I was done with Budget. I was eventually able to have them reverse the charge entirely. When I called customer service they first insisted I had bought the insurance and when I pressed the issue they offered to refund me half of it. I called customer service in the middle of the night as I was in a different time zone and discovered I had been charged $340 for additional insurance I did not purchase and $30 for less than 1 gallon of gas. Once we landed I received an email from budget with the receipt to find out they charged me $370 more than the prepaid amount. We returned the car two weeks later and got on our flight. I made the mistake of giving him one thinking that even though we had prepaid, holds are pretty normal for this type of thing. When I was finally able to talk to an agent he asked for a card for a hold. We arrived and had to wait in line for two hours. My wife and I prepaid for a rental car in full prior to picking it up from the Budget outside of LAX.
